No, mine's an LCD but VFD was an extra cost (quite a lot, actually!) option.
It was bought and installed in June '04

The VFD was meant to supercede the LCD version completely...........The LCD display completely disapears on mine in hot weather despite fiddling with the contrast. :(

yeah i have the same probs with the LCD - i was wondering could you maybe change the screen filter to that of a blue one, or better still wire in a VFD display.

but still first job is trying to get the latest software on to it. i dropped Ecutek an email as they took over it after PSI3 disappeared, so fingers crossed :)

I have manuals, pm me your email address, although I don't think it would help as it sounds firmware related.

jon8oy 20 September 2010 11:03 AM

Tried everything spoke to a guy who said its down to PSi3.co.uk but i cant find a number or contact for them does any1 know

cheers

joey_turbo 20 September 2010 11:12 AM

They went bust a few years back, so there won't be any support now.

jura11 20 September 2010 11:12 AM

Hi mate if you have aftermarket ECU(Simtek,Motec,Gems etc.)PSi3 doesn't work with aftermarket ECU.

jon8oy 20 September 2010 11:28 AM

its a subaru ECU spec c jdm
now been told it could be a firmware issue and no 1 has taken it up since simon quit the business
so yes no support or help from the original manufacturers

Other option is ther any techi bods who know the system to help reboot or check firmware or was it PSi3 only who sorted things out, this is the last thing to ask before i get my money back

joey_turbo 20 September 2010 11:34 AM

It is an ECUtek model PSi3. So as someone suggested, get in contact with them.

Another option is to try it on a standard car. Maybe your car had an aftermarket ECU you didn't know about?

I've found that there is no too much knowledge on the ins and outs of the PSi3's, you'll find out if you look at some older posts. Most of them were handled by Simon@PSi3 privately.

scoobynewbie72 20 September 2010 12:00 PM

No its def a subaru ecu with an ecutek remap and although it is the ecutek psi3 monitor ecutek have nothing to do with the firmware or issues arising if its not working that still goes to PSi3 the manufacturer, yes i have tried it on a uk bugeye WRX with the same message coming up on hi car, conclusion now being its def a issue relating to firmware as i dont know any1 local who has a STi v8 to try it on.

scoobynewbie72 20 September 2010 12:26 PM

as there are only 3 wires are they all connected ok at the PSI3?

jura11 20 September 2010 12:27 PM

Try normal PSi3(LCD version),if working on your JDM Spec C
