what battery ? ? ?

evening guys. im in the position of needing a new car battery for my 04 STi. a friend of mine with the same car as mine is also after one. he has seen halfords ones for around £120, but im just thinking if there is anything else that i can get for similar money?

ive heard in the past of Optima battery's. are these any good?

what do you guys reccomend? any links to places i can buy would be much appreciated.

many thanks

dan

I'd say this one is the best for the money:

Type 005L Varta Asia Car Battery 12V 60Ah (Short Code: D47) (Varta DIN: 560 162 042 or 560 410 054) - Car Batteries - Varta Asia Car Batteries

If you really want to splash the cash, then the Optima is:

Optima Red Top RT S 3.7 R (Reversed) (8035-255) RTR3.7 RTS3.7R - Optima Batteries - Optima Red Top Batteries

I would recommend the Bosch Silver Series. I think yhe one you would require is the S4 024 (560 410 054) but you should check with a dealer to make sure.

i got the halfords calcium jobbie came with 4 year warrentee, it knackered at 3 and a bit years (maybe due the fact that the car could spend weeks at a time sitting in my garage between uses ). so took it back to halfords (with reciept) they tested it and replaced like for like, best bit new 4 year warrentee. At this rate I won't have to buy a battery again!!
