Refurb with colour change V's new 17's V's new 18's... help
 

I've got a Black 2004 WRX and the original wheels are looking pretty tatty now, the options I'm considering are:

1 - Have them refurbished (costs vary from £170 - £320) and powder coated black (not sure about the plastic center cap?)

2 - Buy new 17" Inovit Redline alloys (PFF7 replicas - 17x7 5x100 ET45) in Carbon Black (£339 & use existing tyres as still fairly new)

3 - Buy new 18" Inovit Redline alloys (18x7.5 5x100 ET45) in Carbon Black (£777 for wheel + tyre package) and keep old wheels/tyres for track days etc...).

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

One thing to bare in mind might be the weight of the std. wheels. Are they significantly heavier than quality aftermarket wheels? If so, changing them would be better. The lighter the better when it comes to wheels! :)

New 18" wheels and keep the old ones for trackdays..... Thats what I did in the end. You can get some sweet 17" part worn racing slicks for around £100..... :D

I wouldn't bother buying another set of 17" as you'll only get bored of them in 6 months time and start thinking about 'another' set in 18" sizes :thumb:

Alternatively, I'd look to get the original 17's redone but it's just not as cost effective as having a second set.
