People who have fitted de-cat up pipes to wrx

Guys i have fitted my decat up pipe today on my05 wrx and have soldered a 2.2ohm resistor inbetweeb the two wires where i cut the erg sensor.

The engine management light has now come on  although everything seems to be fine, does anyone know why?

howdid others fit there resistors and what ohm/ wattage did they use?

Thanks guys.

You really should get the car remapped if you are making mods like that. This will not only sort out the cel light but make sure the engine doesn't go bang!

I had the car mapped already after i removed the frst 2 cats so i should run fine and safe.

What is wrong with the resistor i have used? i thought it would stop there from being problem?

Thanks for replies though guys.

you should really have the car map tweaked now youve decatted the uppipe mate, not just for the turbo's safety but you'll be able to up the boost slightly therefor more gains to be had ;)

I might do that then and see if they can cancel the light at same time? i wonder how much i will hav to pay?

Murph86 24 August 2009 06:10 PM

Scooby cliic mapped with ECUtek, does thatmean that only SC can remap? i've heard that may be the case!

powerwrx 24 August 2009 08:39 PM

could be wrong mate, but i think you will have to go back to SC.

who fitted your up pipe mate and how much was it to be fitted can i ask

Murph86 25 August 2009 11:28 AM

I'll givethem a call when i get some funds, did you get myPM about he up pipes on ebay?

My mate is a mechanic and do nearly all of my wor that i cant do myself.

I agreed the price of £20 with him first ha ha he went mad when it took him 3 hours.

places usually charge £100 to do it as it is quite a long fiddly job.
