cheap exedy clutches - anyone had problems?

my clutch is on its last legs, it bites at the very top.
the scooby specialists will sell me an exedy one for around £250
ebay and bob'5 are selling them for around £150. whats the catch? I thought i had seen a thread on here about them a while ago but i cant find it. some were saying they were cheap copies????

anyone had problems with the cheaper ones?

i only have a standard car and its not worth much so i dont want to pay big bucks. its just not ecomnomical. i just want to avoid an early failure and clutch judder. i will be getting the flywheel stone skimmed.

I had one off BOB last week - full exedy kit! Not driven the car yet but it doesn't look like a cheap copy :thumb: I'm sure he wouldn't be knocking out moody ones on an enthusiast forum :cuckoo:

I have one from techniclutch/just clutches, mapper reckoned it was slipping at 323 lb/ft of torque not the 400 it should handle so you have been warned.

So far it hasn't slipped with me behind the wheel so just warning.
