I know its a completely pointless thread but I am feking over the moon with my new car having planned it for over 6 months and finaly reaching the finish line is a huge relief, definately worth the wait! Can now relate to certain threads a lot more now I own one, instead of just being a passenger in one and only having my bike to talk about :p Roll on Bolney next weekend!

I think I will be taking out shares in Shell ;)Haven't had a grin on my face like the one today since getting my bike this time last year.

For anyone debating to get one or not, DO IT!!!!!!

Cheers Craig, I got a MY98 Reddish Blue 4 door Turbo, 29k on the clock so 30k service imminent!!!

How frustrating.

You have reached your goal and I have just begun mine. I'll have mine in about 7 months so it will be interesting to see how you're getting on then.

Dave.

Quality!
Mines coming up for its 3 year service with cambelt change...
£ouch£ !!

Bravo2zero_sps 10 March 2002 12:47 PM

Dave it wont feel as long as it sounds, September to March has gone very quickly thankfully. The week I had to wait from putting the deposit down to picking it up was the worst, talk about big kid waiting for father christmas to bring his presents!!!

Craig u say 3 years cam belt is changed, I was assuming it was on the 45k miles service. To be honest I never checked so as mine is 3.5 years old I will look through the history, but it was never mentioned by the chap selling and mine hasnt even had its 30k yet! Is there a set time mileage for this to be done?

miller 10 March 2002 01:15 PM

I thought it was 45K or 36 months whicever comes first, so if its 3.5 years old it should be on 52.5k service.
not sure though

Would'nt it be wise to change the cam belt anyway (unless you know for a fact that it has been regulary serviced). I have always eered on the side of caution with such things.

cam belt change £££

engine rebuild ££££££....
