Well'ard geezers in 10 year old Vectras

Do they really think that they look cool, with their elbows out the window and their prematurely balding heads? :o

I guess they want to look like they're just about to do a Bank job. Their dream ride would be a dark 10 year old Range Rover with a pair of pretend sawn-off 12 bores in the boot. :lol1:

I think they just look like tits.

RS Grant 10 August 2009 09:34 AM

Fun trip to work then?? :lol1:

Cheers,
Grant

ChefDude 10 August 2009 09:35 AM

not really a world apart from impreza turbo drivers in their 10 year old cars ;)

Matteeboy 10 August 2009 09:50 AM

I think most of them are currently down here in Cornwall...

StickyMicky 10 August 2009 10:00 AM

LOL i had one come in yesterday for a carwash

Bit of a mini beefcake, not the most polite bloke, tracksuit bottoms and the obligatory nike air max trainers :D

"here mate, am gonna use this voucher i got from me insurance company aye?"

"What`s the date on it mate?"
"November"
"No problem, pull around and i will put you in, is that your vectra parked up"
"Aye" :lol:
"You do realise that you will be entering the wash at your own risk with low profile tyres fitted?"
"Ehh? what the **** for? this is bull**** i want my free wash"
"You can have your free wash, no problem, pull around and i will put you in, but we are not liabel for any wheel damage if your alloys are not in spec with the various warning signs"
"Here, give us that ****en voucher back, i will get the pakies down the road to do it instead"
"Mate, that voucher will not work at any other wash unless it is an ARC one"
"This is ****en bull****!"

He then left, smoking his tyres

mr_D 10 August 2009 10:05 AM

a site called modzextreme is full of vaux drivers.

its all corsa this vectra that and even the cav !

oh and how can i forget the nova

Matteeboy 10 August 2009 10:26 AM

Sticky - people like that make me embarrassed to be a human being. What a COMPLETE cock.

ChefDude 10 August 2009 10:41 AM

okay, i freely admit impreza drivers are not like that... usually.

J4CKO 11 August 2009 01:01 PM

I know exactly what you mean, I was thinking the same thing yesterday, they accesorise them as well, sometimes Lexus lights, stripes and all the other parpahenalia from Halfords, the V6 seems to attract the Alpha Male nob as well, that said one stopped to let us across the roundabout when walking with the kids to go for a meal, he had to brake from about eighty though.

I am not against old cars, Vectra's in particular but driven sensibly, unadorned with the windows up and no music blaring out they are fine, if you have such a car, dont draw attention to it !

J4CKO realises the irony of his post having a Saab 9-3 Aero which is basically a Vectra underneath, its just a middle class acceptable version of the same.

dpb 11 August 2009 01:03 PM

intrestingly iv notice the same trend with this motor

J4CKO 11 August 2009 01:16 PM

I think the same blokes used to have Vauxhall Senators, used to be ranks of them parked at the computer fair at Bowlers in Manchester, always driven by fat, shaven headed blokes with Megadeth T shirts and a key chain off their Farah slacks.

The Chief 11 August 2009 01:17 PM

Chavvy 40 year olds in SRi V6 Vectras who take on anything in their super quick Vectras (Ferraris and Porkers especially) and tells his missus 'hey Shaz ah we're all over is arse then' :lol1: and drive like c*cks as to make a point.

FFS your forty not feckin' 18 anymore.

busby330 11 August 2009 01:43 PM

must say i have owned a vec previous to the scoob, i am also a moderator on a Vec owners club, BUT.... i know what you all mean about SOME (not all) Vectra drivers, there are a few that actually spend quite a bit on there cars, and modify them tastefully.

My favourite are the V6 drivers that seem to think they can beat anything on the road, then you got the ones that stick a K&N (well Max Power) on the car then think its a rocket ship.

Nat 11 August 2009 01:53 PM

Vectras, old beemers, old mercs, old ranges.....doesn't matter what the car is, the driver profile is often the same :D

Come on admit it you're just mad because some fat middleaged gimp in a vectra smoked you at the lights :D

Also with the near assault you mentioned in another thread, nice area you work in isn't it :) Or you could be talking out of yer arse :D

J4CKO 11 August 2009 11:17 PM

Is a ectra V6 actually quick ?

Have to say I heard one with an aftermarket exhaust recently and it sounded superb, not superb for a Vectra, just compared to anything, was quite dissapointed when I saw where the noise was coming from.

mmm might have to go and join that site for a giggle

Matteeboy 12 August 2009 01:04 PM

Tempted to go and see if any fancy racing my diesel estate car with no mods...

Tee hee...

Nat 12 August 2009 02:14 PM

Mattee you'll keep doing this until someone wipes the floor with you in something plain/ordinary looking and then you'll sulk and not want to play racey anymore :D

Matteeboy 12 August 2009 02:46 PM

Hey - that'll just serve me right.

A mate was very chuffed with his B7 RS4 and was "cruising" around Bristol. Some chavvy hatch pulled up alongside him at the lights - my mate grinned, floored it and..

....got completely blitzed! Must have been a proper conversion!

Three months later he went to MTM for a supercharger...

theboy 12 August 2009 05:19 PM

There is a guy that works in company next to mine. I would say he is late 30s. Piece of **** Vectra SRI with Halfords alloys and a rather naff looking chrome tail pipe. Whenever he sees me he blips the throttle... :cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo:

What a TIT

Matteeboy 12 August 2009 05:25 PM

SRI = as fast as a decomposing turd.

GSIs are more useful but still handle like total cack (to the point of being dangerous). Vectras have always been joke cars.

ALi-B 12 August 2009 05:25 PM

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but doesn't that describe a good proportion of Impreza drivers too? :wonder:

;)

Yes i agree totally, you get a lot of Impreza drivers that think there cool driving a piece of 3K crap:lol1::lol1: At the end of the day is a 3K car

Matteeboy 12 August 2009 05:35 PM

A mk1 Escort is can be a £3k as can many classics - that doesn't mean they are crap. Value is meaningless. After all many might consider an ST a £20k piece of crap (not me though)...

theboy 12 August 2009 05:49 PM

A MK1 escort is a old classic. I dont see how you can compare that with a ten year old Scooby

Matteeboy 12 August 2009 05:56 PM

Yes but you can get a lot of car for £3k including some classics - so why judge a car on it's value?! I judge cars on what they actually are, not what they might be worth.
