How much for a new key and immobiliser fob from a Subaru dealer??

Well basiclly, i have two sets of keys for the scoob, one of them i can't seem to find and one of them has gone faulty and wont unlock the car!

So if the worst comes to the worst how much would i be looking at to get a replacment from a Subaru dealer? :wonder:

thanks guys. :thumb:

Do they start the car, but just won't lock/unlock?

subaru-impreza-2000 09 August 2009 11:52 PM

The car will not start mate, because on the actual key i do have, the immobiliser fob's gone fauly and is not unlocking the car, i can unlock the car with the key but its useless as all it does is set off the alarm.

Basicly unless i find the other set, i'm gonig to have to go to a Subaru dealer for a replacement, so just wanting to know how much im looking at :(

Well I'm off to bed shortly, so I'll leave you with this:

If you can still start the car, unlock manually with the key, and disarm the alarm/immob with the keypad, then you might be slightly better off. You can re-program the remote side of the key using the info here: https://www.scoobynet.com/security-1...g-key-fob.html

see if that works. But after programming this key fob in, the other one waon't work when you do find it. They need to be programmed in together.

Sounds like the key needs a new battery. As said above, you can open the door with the key then switch off the alarm with the keypad. Then the key should start the car. If you did need a new key I think it's more like £170 or so to supply and program it to work both the alarm and ECU immobilisation.

I paid £ 135.00 for the complete new key and immobiliser from a Subaru dealer.

You will need to take your log book as they require chassis number etc. :thumb:

Sounds daft but try replacing the fob battery. I was having similar problems with mine but the tiny red light on the fob still flashed when I pressed but it just needed a new battery.

lol i did replace the fob battery around 2 weeks ago, but that ones just gone faulty, anyways GREAT NEWS..

Found my other set of keys :D :D :D problem solved! lol
