Thanks for the slicks :D

I'm now, after such a maudlin posting, going to have to look out the "Kent Come Dancing" pics & post them again - just to remind everyone whats missing them  ;) :p

Back soon folks...

ChrisB 09 March 2002 11:18 PM

:( David.

My first ever Scooby pax ride on a track day was in with you at Donnington. Thanks for the memories.

Cheers,

Chris.

Puff....good man.
Can I also appeal to whoever it was that had video footage at Bedford last time 'round (I think it was the time that Cem spun the GTR) could they please, please, please post it again. :)

DavidLewis 10 March 2002 07:52 AM

Hi Bruv ;-)

Pete, although sometimes you can be a complete ****, its 'personalities' like yours that makes this BBS so....so.....so... ermm......'interesting' (unlike imatruckas)

P.S. I could have a nice set of gold wheels for sale if you're interested. ;)

ChrisB: First ever pax ride with me eh? Did you ever regain the nerve to go out again.

Steve Perriam 10 March 2002 08:09 AM

same thing about to happen to me david :(

company diesel beckons and witha house to buy the scoob is about to go.

i might even get a Saab !! 9-3 2.2 TiD SE though !

enjoy the saab, i was impressed with the one i drove for a week.

Jolly Green Monster 10 March 2002 08:52 AM

I do hope you'll still be around here?

just with different wheels?

My father (no pipe and slipper reference intended) has driven Saabs for years and currently had a 9-5 Aero... they make lovely cars.

Hope you enjoy the new car

JGM :)

Danny Fisher 10 March 2002 09:20 AM

And I hope the nights down the peel shall continue. Saying that it is about time for another visit?

Dan

mutant_matt 10 March 2002 11:17 AM

DavidLewis 10 March 2002 01:12 PM

Danny,

How about Friday?

CarolineA 11 March 2002 09:10 AM

As one of the people to have had the pleasure of being a passenger on track with you, thank you, it was awesome!

I hope this is not farewell for good, you are a top bloke and I would be very sad if it was.

Enjoy your new car and hope to see you soon.

Caroline

DavidLewis 11 March 2002 10:01 AM

*wipes tear from eyes*

Thank-you Caroline. I dont think I'll be back, but as they say, "Never say never"

ian_sadler 11 March 2002 12:02 PM

David,

You know why my first track day at Bedford was a bit special.

At least you'll have the vid to keep the moment fresh in your mind :D

Thanks for the bits.

Don't be a stranger.

Ian

ChrisB 11 March 2002 12:29 PM

"ChrisB: First ever pax ride with me eh? Did you ever regain the nerve to go out again. "

Just - my next ride out that day (IIRC!) was with a slightly worse for wear CK1!

DavidLewis 11 March 2002 05:52 PM

CK1.........who was that then  ;)

Andy Tang 11 March 2002 07:45 PM

Did I mention that David was the first person to take me out on track? Just thought I'd join in!! :)

So when are we out in the Saab to go crusing for 'hot chicks'??? ;)

DavidLewis 12 March 2002 11:48 AM

And there was me thinking I'd never had a virgin before.

Oh yes, Sunscreen. :D

Andy. You provide the chicks, I'll provide the car :) Just dont tell Caroline or Karen.

Webmaster: Is it possible to make the last line unreadable by UserName CarolineA??

DavidLewis 15 March 2002 02:23 PM

Last day of Scoob ownership :(

Jay m A 15 March 2002 02:47 PM

:(

See you soon mate, is the peel on tonight?

Any plans for a track car?

Justin

ian_sadler 15 March 2002 02:52 PM

David,

I just bought an old Saab 9000XSi to save the commute in the scoob.

See you on pipe_smokers_&_slipers.net/bbs :D

Ian

DavidLewis 15 March 2002 04:16 PM

Jay, I don't think the Peel is on tonight. Was just an idea. Will be one soon, I expect.

DavidLewis 16 March 2002 07:04 PM

Well the deed has been done, I'm now the proud owner of a 2.0T 93 Convertible. Totally different on all counts to the scoob (except they both have 2.0l Turbo's) but I'm smitten. Not alot of sun today but the top was down when it was out. If you ignore the scuttle shake, its a very sound car and I'm gong to love every minute.

DavidLewis 18 March 2002 11:28 AM

Will everyone stop doing a rain dance and give me a chance to do some top down motoring. :D

DavidLewis 03 September 2002 08:40 PM

After three and a half happy years of scoob ownership, the day that nobody believed would happen finally has......I sold the scoob.

I have honestly never met a better/friendlier/more helpful bunch of people ever. No, really, I haven't

Special thanx over the years must got to Stef (for introducing me to track-days) Pete Croney (for helpful advice on track-days.....then selling me the kit to do it ;) ) Phil (for starting the original Scoobynet) Simon DB (for turning scoobynet into what it is today, warts and all ;) )
Steve Lawson (for many things, including Fridays at the peel) Andrew Barker (you know why) my Mum, Dad and everyone else that knows me :D

And to all the passengers I've ever taken on track: I hope you enjoyed it, I know I did.

Me, well I've joined the slipper and pipe brigade and swapped the scoob for a SAAB 9-3 convertible (turbo of course ;) ) Handles like ****e but has a wonderful poise and is full of gadgets.

I wish you all well, and I'm sure for a few months yet, I'll not be able to stop the reflex action of a flash of the lights and a wave to an oncoming scoob.
So, be gentle with me, if a blue 9-3 convertible driver waves at you, please, just for a little while, wave back.

Good Luck, best wishes.

David.

Indeedy, David also gave me my "first time" :-)

A true gent and someone who made me very happy that I'd joined such a great crowd on the day after I'd ordered my first scoob.

(sorry mate, this all sounds like you've passed away or something)

Enjoy the saaaaaaaaaab and yeah, hopefully we will see you again some sunny day.

robman

(edited to say, "when do we get Sunscreen 2?"
