Manhole Covers.....?

Wonder if anyone can help....??? I've got a plastic manhole cover on my drive and not sure if I should change to a stronger metal one. The current cover doesn't seem to have a manufacturer's name on it so if anyone can help with this it would be very, very much appreciated.
(ignore the dirty drive - living on a building site at the minute!!)

Thanks...

Stay with Plastic. The Pikey's will leave it alone.

Are we allowed to say pikey now the BBS is owned by the yanks ? :D

I believe the "correct" term is personhole cover.:thumb:

I have never seen plastic cover, I would personally change to a metal one.

Why do you want to change it
Its strong enough to drive over

Aaron1978 06 August 2009 11:23 PM

nothing wrong with that. Oh and the P stands for Polypipe.

And it's not a manhole cover it's an Inspection Cover and perfectly adequate for the task :thumb:

Its fine :)

David Lock 07 August 2009 09:56 AM

Yeah it'll be fine if you can be sure that you will never have a heavy builders truck reversing up your drive or you decide to have a clear out and hire a skip.

I had my block paving drive severely damaged by such things :o

Thanks guys, appreciate all the advice...:thumb:
Think I'm okay to leave the 'Inspection Cover' as it is without any probs.(just thought 'manhole cover' sounded a bit better than 'plastic thing on the drive')!!!:lol1:
