Sand Spreading on Roads WTF?!?!

Went out for dinner on saturday night, perfectly normal evening, no rain etc roads a bit damp due to the weather of late but thats it.

Next thing I know theres a spreader coming my way, lights blaring, like its the middle of winter (well its more like that than summer!). Temp was 18 deg on the cars gauge.

Now the whole road from Liphook to Haslemere if you know it was COVERED in sand and I was thinking a builders lorry had spilled or something, but nope, bloody spreader was going up and down the road spraying sand, blasted me as I went passed in the opposite direction. Had to get the pressure washer next day out and hose down all my wheel arches, they were absolutely caked in it

So WTF is that all about then in the middle of summer? Anyone know, feel like making a complaint ;)

Reports of a diesel spillage, maybe.

Or it was a council driver going in for his Gritter test whilst getting an upto date risk assesement written.

Might have been I suppose though I'd been along the road earlier and was ok, bearing in mind theres not much HGV traffic along the road let alone late saturday to spill diesel...

Might be the latter.

Made a right mess tho :(
