Rear TCA removal-advice

I'm wanting to remove my rear tca's and fit new polybushes into them.I already have the bushes but need a bit of advice on removal of the tca's.

When I first went under the car to have a look I noticed that on the foremost tca mounting nearest the diff there was a plastic cap that has the words Lock-Unlock (pic 1) on one side and on the other side there apears to be adjustment markings above the bolt (pic 2).These marking also appear on the rear inner mounting aswell.

1.What is the purpose for this?
2.Do I have to remove this plastic cover to undo the bolt?
3.Will I need to take care to re-align anything or can I set it anywhere?

I know this may sound lame but I just dont want to attack the job and then end up screwing something up,like my geometry, and end up with a badly handling car.

Car is a v4 sti type r if it makes any difference.

Your help is greatly appreciated.:thumb:

Mick

the plastic cocer on the bolt is for there to stop the bolt going through the petrol tank in a crash ,you will have to remove the cap ,just prise with a screwdriver
the bolt at the rear is the adjustment for toe .mark the bolt with paint and rebuild it putting the bolt back to same position
use 2 different colours so you dont mix up bolts say red n/side blue o/side
it would be advisable to have rear toe checked once the bushes have settled
grease up all bolts when reassembling and clean threads on all the bolts as well
cheers geo
