well mate my 02 sti (6 speed ) needed one and i found out it was on top of gearbox and needs to be droped slightly to get at it,its like a bush that screws into box and you can see the nut sticking out on top with a wire that plugs into loom,THIS IS AN MY 02 so not sure if its same as yours, hth.

Cheers Carl.
Any Clarification as to a 5 Speed ?. Cheers. Dean |
Dean,
The 5 spd switches are much easier to get to than the 6 spd. If you look on the left hand side of the box where the gearbox mounting is bolted to the transfer case you will see 2 switches fitted. the neutral switch is the one that is furthest away from the engine, the front switch is for the reverse lights.
