Just bought a 335d Touring...

I know I'm not actually on here any more but thought a few might be interested.

Just taken delivery of a 56 reg, 16k mile, Sapphire Black (metallic) Touring 335d SE with 17" star alloys (that look great), Terra Dakota leather, panoramic sunroof and the most comical diesel engine I've ever had the pleasure to experience!

Got it for an absolute bargain from Sytners of Leicester - bought it blind and had it delivered this morning. Rather nerve racking but it was a risk worth taking - it's absolutely mint, has newish tyres and is unmarked. I highly recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a used BMW.

It's a proper sleeper - just the fat rear tyres (255), twin exhausts and badge give it away.

Bye bye Astra!

Oh and I'm liking John's new GTR VERY much!

Okay, I'm off again. Cheers all!

Andy M3 31 July 2009 11:47 AM

Nice purchase, how come you are not on here anymore?

john banks 31 July 2009 12:26 PM

I'm glad it turned out OK, but I would always reserve on the phone with a deposit or card details subject to agreed condition, and then go and look before getting it delivered as so many BMW AUCs turn out to be sheds despite the descriptions on the phone. Enjoy the torque :D

Hey MB,

fantastic car - I am sure you will enjoy it. That engine is fabulous!

Trout :D

zip106 31 July 2009 03:41 PM

Wheels are too small and they're run-flats.

Turbo2 31 July 2009 04:33 PM

Welcome back! I knew you wouldn't be able to resist the lure of your pining fans for long!

jaytc2003 31 July 2009 04:39 PM

Hey - it could have been an Audi for goodness sake

Nat 31 July 2009 04:47 PM

Well done, great car. Touring is def the shape to have for these sleeper Beemers and Audis.

Quite right.
After all, Audi's are the new BMW.
;)

J4CKO 31 July 2009 07:54 PM

Love it, personally I dont want to you to leave but if you are going to leave in a dramatic huff you cant come back to show off your new motor :D

Oh go on then, seeing as its you, I wont let the NSR bullies know.

dpb 31 July 2009 08:48 PM

I think its slightly pathetic - sorry Mattee

Nat 31 July 2009 08:53 PM

What real world mpg are you getting Mattey?

SPIDERWRX 31 July 2009 09:07 PM

I am test driving a 335d saloon SE on saturday 57 plate 21,000 miles 23k Sytners of sutton coldfiled. i love the looks off the SE fat rear tyres (255), twin exhausts and badge. ....proper sleeper... hide the back and it looks like any other BMW (perfect for carparks) whats it like to drive,

Matteeboy 31 July 2009 10:19 PM

Spider - the drive is superb. The 50/50 weight distribution is very apparent, it feels rock solid and the steering is spot on. Brakes have tonnes of power (maybe not enough for a track but more than enough for the road) and it just feels so well screwed together.

The real thrill is from using it in semi auto - it's bloody quick. And practical too!

Nat - not driven far enough to tell properly but dipping very slightly under 40mpg at the moment.

A few camera phone pics with tragically poor number plate erasing...

It came with a roofrack - now taken off but very handy.

Nat 31 July 2009 10:22 PM

Looks good. Interior just the same as my old 320i. Nice place to be. Debadge and/or 318i badge adding needed ;)

SPIDERWRX 31 July 2009 10:31 PM

Thats a lovely car mate, this is the one im test driving,

Sytner Sutton Coldfield in West Midlands. Authorised BMW Dealer Approved Used BMW including 1,3,5,6 and 7 Series, X3, X5, Z4 and M Cars.

so subtle & classy

Matteeboy 31 July 2009 10:51 PM

Very nice!

I found the Sytner (I used the Leicester branch) service to be totally first class.

Good luck!

Its about time you parted with some of that cash Matteeboy .!!!!!

Looks a nice motor .

Enjoy .

dpb 01 August 2009 09:59 AM

Looks nice , if id had/were to spend that much id have gone for the 5 series however,

Nat - is your middle name Blade ?

Nat 01 August 2009 11:56 AM

No it's "none", why?

Matteeboy 01 August 2009 02:11 PM

dpb - 5 series a lot heavier, slightly down of power and a bit odd looking for me but still like them! Having a LOT of fun at the moment!

Zip - :lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1::hjtwofing:Whatever_

Surely rebadging/removing the cars origins is ultimate chav activity ?

, Mattee , surprises me - they seem to get to 60 for example in a very similar time

Nat 01 August 2009 04:31 PM

No, this is reverse chavvery....chavs remove the 318i badge to make it look "better", removing the 335D badge is anti-chav :thumb:

Mad Monty 01 August 2009 09:27 PM

The perfect marque for this owner.

corradoboy 01 August 2009 09:50 PM

Consider the Bluefin remap for 350/500 :norty:

Matteeboy 02 August 2009 08:07 AM

dpb - the inlaws had a 535d Touring and it was definitely a bit slower -but still quick. The 5 also comes with i-drive which I utterly hate - no i-drive on mine - woo hoo! For some odd reason it's (535d) about 10-15 down on both bhp and torque - maybe it's geared differently?

I'm also 34 not 54...!

Piling a few miles on and liking it more and more. Can be used as a "normal" car quite happily then slip it into semi auto and let rip. It even sounds pretty good.

Corrado - better get used to it first but maybe...

MattW 02 August 2009 09:18 AM

Weel done MB, finally got rid of that Astra! not a fan of BMW but have utmost respect for that engine.

cookstar 02 August 2009 09:27 AM

very very nice, I'm trying to talk the other half into the 535d at the mo, getting there I think. :norty:
