IE keeps closing :-(

Not sure if anyone can help, but when I’m replying on a forum my IE every so often closes with the message ‘Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close’ The only time it happens is on forums. I’ve taken to writing my reply on word then copy and paste it on to the forum.
Any ideas anyone??

I've found IE8 has got soooooooooooo slow recently, in the last week or so, I've given up with it for the other browsers its so bad.

Thats on Vista 64bit with a quad core proc  Thought it might just be my PC, but when my Core 2 laptop with Windows 7 64bit did the same, I guess theres been a really naff update been sent out over Windows Update :(

blu_scoob, if you want to get with the cool kids, drop IE and get Google Chrome.

Google Chrome - Download a new browser

Mine was doing that too, swapped to Firefox and never looked back.

try strting it with this switch....

-extoff

see if it crashes then. If it is ok, its a plugin problem....

Firefox 3.5 or Google Chrome are my browsers of choice.

I had this a while ago but didn't get any error message, it just closed suddenly without any explanation. Think it was something to do with Flash at the time.

Exactly, and disabling plugins will bypass the problem
