And you think running a Subaru is expensive

Great data in evo this month on the running costs of various supercars. I know a friend of mine just sold his Gallardo with a £7,000 service looming. Compared to some that is cheap!!

The Veyron is totally eye-watering. First service is £13,645; A set of tyres at £25,000 every 2,500 miles. A set of wheels at £29,900 every 7,500 miles. By the way, the services get much more expensive after the first one.

If you can afford one, the servicing & running costs will be a triffling expense...

Sounds almost exactly on cue actually :D

Compared say with a new mondeo at 25K , first service £345 ?

How can they justify a service for that money?

Oil, filter, belts, plugs, pads and few other checks, but £13,000!

Surely even the megarich would baulk at that?

50% of the first service charge is labour alone for checking and resetting all the different Veyron systems.

At that price you could get and race a Ferrari FXX with Micheal Schumacher. OK, you can't take it home but I suspect it would be far more rewarding!

I think the F1 back in the '90s was £25,000 for a service - but it was no where near as frequent.

That labour for checking, and replacement wheels etc  has surely got to have more to do with VAG covering their asses for when it all goes Pete Tong at 200mph.
