i checked in the user manual to see whether my car has a fuel light & it dint say anywhere, the needle goes right to the bottomm of the E & no light? its a my97 catalunya if that helps. can any one shed any light on this(sorry):)

Mine has got a low fuel light, MY00.

Both the MY96's I have had did not have a fuel light!

So I don't think they were fitted until later.. MY98 probably.

My 00 car has a fuel light, but it doesn't come on until the needle drops under 'E' on the gauge, then filled up and realised I still had 8 litres of fuel left in the tank...

Can confirm our MY98 has a low-fuel light. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it was introduced for this MY with the revised interior, but I could be (and probably am! :)) wrong... :D

I have a my98 4dr (registered March) and it does have the low fuel light...... It is a little petrol pump symbol, located bottom left corner of the dash (under the fuel guage!)

MY97 wagon never had a fuel light....unless the bulb had been out for 14 months :D

I think the fuel light (on UK cars anyhow) came in with the MY99.

Checked the FAQ. The low fuel light was brought in with the revised interior on the MY98
