newage v7 sti
i have a completely standard sti and looking into what options i have for maximum power without upgrading the engine i have been reading alot about the md321t but how would this be on a 2.0l used for the road can anyone who has this setup shed any light on it. iewhat parts to use with it thanx in advance :notworthy

Really you need to have a power goal as theres so many options 330,350, 400bhp? or more?

my power goal revolves around the md321t what ever i can get out of it with my 2.0l engine with bolt on parts but unsure what parts would work better with this turbo

if its completely standard, there are a fair few other bits to sort first before you think about buying an md321t ;)

and what would those be ie,brakes etc its parts for power i am looking into and what works best with the md321t on a standard engine

full decat exhaust (change everything from turbo back) and a walbro 255 fuel pump is a must first of all. you'll need a remap once you've decatted. you should be able to get to 330-350 without changing the turbo....
if you're really going for more power, then change the turbo. but the standard injectors will probably need uprating and you'll start to struggle with the STI top mount intercooler at 400bhp. worth thinking about other things at the same time like ported headers too. you'll have a much faster road car if you forget all that - decat it, remap to about 320/330 then spend the money on brakes and suspension upgrades. |
I've done what steve ppp, has said and my car has been totally transformed.just making them mild mod's makes the car run smoother,better fuel economy,and feels like it can rev forever.you would be surprised what is waiting to be released with a remap,decat and uprated fuel pump.give it a go and when you've have had enough,go for the big bhp.GOOD LUCK

fuel pump turbo back decat and new ecu is without doubt the way forward....ive got these mods planned for my54 sti ppp.....can i just ask whats the crack at mot time and what happens when mr plod takes an interest when you do a fly by !
And how loud will it be with these mods ? I decatted an mr2 turbo rev 3 and that was spittin flames and settin of car alarms within a 50mtr radius...lol |

can my prodrive ecu be remapped then steve ?
ive read on other posts that it would be a better option to have the ecutek on mine ? still a newbie so be gentle with me. . . ;-) |

wanting at the least 450/450 out of the car but i have just been told that the v7 sti are only good for 405 torque so it looks like a set of uprated pistons and rods then a md321t
also a clutch upgrade |
