You were correct! smile never left my face! Had the tax disc number plates on before I left the lay-by (Transporter couldn`t get into my narrow access). I`ve found mine came with an electric headlamp beam adjuster which supprised me. Also a very expensive fire extingusher, a first aid kit, warning triangle, etc none of which I expected. unsure if the dealer threw these in as a bonus!.
I had intended to keep the revs below 3000 for the first few hundred miles or so and then gradually increase this until the first 1000 miles, How? touch the throttle, ever so gently and 3500 revs just appears! One thing though the headlights were nowhere half as bad as I was led to believe, depite the fact that I have Philips vision plus to put on but I thought I would try the originals just for a comparison.
Anyway good luck and to all of those still waiting (I know there are a few) as the other Bob say,s It`s worth it!. As a matter of interest Lucas of Mansfield (main Agent) are to do the first service, less than £100 quoted, No problems about being an import and not purchased from them and seem delighted for my custom.

How did you pre-register? On VIN number? Is it a private plate?

Harry_Boy 08 March 2002 01:40 PM

Hi Active. Nice one Mate! I should be on board too in the next few days.

Cheers, Harry.

 Thanks for your remarkes all, Iv`e owned some quick machinery in my many long years, I`m an old bugger see!, Supra`s Celica`s, Cosworths etc but none has bought such a smile to my lips like this motor.
Steve love to visit Lincoln and meet up with a few of you as it`s only just down the road from me, unfortunately my daughter moves into a new house on Sunday and I have my orders..sod it.
Methinks there will be a group meet organised soon as there appears to be a lot of new owners in this area just of late so I will look forward to meeting up then. Tks for the offer.
BL keep biting the nails mate!!.
Greg` Ordered mine in October so I know what it`s like. Funny thing is though the last week is the worst!.
Speedking, 1/ I obtained a cherished no plate ???? WRX. 2/ Requested dealer to forward the invoice and certificate of conformity early as the DVLA will not accept photocopies. Went to the local DVLA office on Monday 4th March with all the 12 forms they required + a cheque for £180 (includes first reg fee). Received tax disc on Wed 6th. Car arrived Thur 7th. Plates and tax disc fitted as soon as it came off the transporter. Drove orf as they say all legal like.
Harry Boy, Let me know!.
WRXBOB stop driving the bloody thing for a min and talk to me you miserable bugger!.
Sorry long thread chaps but I`ve tried to answer you all.
Regards. Bob W

Hi Active :D

I know exactly how your feeling :D

I've had mine a week now & my grin is as big as ever :D

Think the extra's you got were because it came from Belgium, think they are required over there :D

As for keeping the rpm down...I couldn't do it :D

Had a few unplanned redlines in the lower gears, with the rev limiter kicking in...I'm a naughty boy :D

Was running on SUL but now using NUL to see if it will slow me down :D

Having the 1k service done at Monty's of Sheffield for £70 :D

Taking it in next Thursday at 8.30am & waiting while they do it :D

Think the mileage will be over the 1k by then, even though I've hardly used it during the week because of work :D

Mileage at present is 777 :D

Going down to Lincoln for the mini meet on Sunday, my mate is taking his '02 WRX too :D

Sorry for all the :D faces in this post but I can't stop grinning :D

Have fun :D

BOB :D
