Might be some help to some of the people who just bought clear front indicators;

After fitting my new indicators I got a little paranoid as they looked great but could be nicked in about 20 seconds. So I took one of the bolts to a nut and bolt specialist who has sold me a set of tamperproof bolts and security allen type key. Cost me about £4.20 inc vat( small price considering how much new indicators cost) but he said he would have done it a bit cheaper if I'd bought a bulk lot.

The bolts I got were for a pre 97 model (don't know if later ones are different bolts, anyone enlighten me) and if anyone wants a set and can't find any, e-mail me and I'll see what sort of discount they are prepared to give

If you just want to know what size the new bolt are: M6 x 20

This isn't an advert, I just thought I could save some of your moaning when your new indicators get nicked, but obviously I should have said "My cars faster than yours" I might have got some response then

Oh well, mine are safe

Charlie,

Any chance of the details of the supplier ?

Thanks

Gavin

Gavin, it's just a local nut and bolt supplier in Bradford that the company I work for have used on occasion - It's called Bradford Bolt and Nut if it's any help.

Its hard to believe that a fellow scooby driver would tamper with your pride and joy but it does happen. Some scumbag in a Silver WRX (I saw him driving away) nicked my clear side repeaters from the Balmoral Ave area in Belfast.

Hi Charlie,
I wish someone told me about this!!!
I have now rerouted my indicators to the side light as my front indicators got nicked!!!
I have now been told about this after they got nicked from a friend of mine.

These nuts & bolts could be a new item for the Scoobynet shop? Save individuals searching them out.

Anyone know if MY99 has different size bolts/screws?

Cheers
Rob

Who's to say to say they would? Could just be lowlifes nicking them to sell on to unsuspecting buyers. Personaly I always try to make sure the seller is legit.
I think that selling them through scoobyshop is a great idea. Who would I approach about this?

Tamperproof bolts and bits are available from RS Electronics... I have a shedload of the bolts, but only one set of the bits so its rather useless offering to post 'em out.
