Hi there,
When you say "Upgrade" what do you mean?:wonder: sorry not being pedantic or anything but do you want more power? interior upgrades? suspension?etc
Are you doing this yourself or do you have abit of cash to splash:D .
API Impreza are a good company to talk to if you want some good helpful advice & upgrades.
Sounds like your Impreza's got a good start though so far. Has it been re-mapped/chipped or anything? Having it mapped would really help unleash it's potential and it's best to have it set up for UK fuel.:thumb:

:idea:Definately Tony. One of the first things I did on my classic. I bougt 4 pots second hand and saved a packet. The brakes work great I think and you can get a 335mm disc conversion set for them too!

Amazingly I will have some off my car very shortly ;)

what kind of power you after :)

cbscooby 17 July 2009 06:16 PM

hi i'm looking for more power probably about 300bhp, these will be gradual upgrades month by month to finally finish off with a full respray, i've used scooby clinic since i've owned scoobies this being my second since january i have no idea how to do things on cars dont want to do more damage

been told my cars not remappable and would bennefit from a polar chip, but dont no if i need to upgrade anything before, i've got new plugs and packs and the fuel pump to fit and a oil leak at the front which will consist of a new cam belt,

out of interest can you change the standard ecu to a remappable 1 if so how much roughly would that cost,

as said breaks are shocking but again don't no wats wat, thanks for helping

you can get an apexi power fc + commander for £450ish that seems the going rate but you will need it remapping for your car,i also believe you could have an esl remap which uses a daughter board on your ecu so it can be mapped ;)

cbscooby 17 July 2009 07:22 PM

cheers pal, do i needto do any other upgrades before it gets remapped

I would do as much as you can before any re-mapping. It will save you money in the long run as you don't want to keep paying for re-mapping fees :).

Edit; Just had a thought, if you are after some cheap parts I've bought a few from this guy on here who is breaking his car. He's been very reliable I've found. Quick delivery & great comms. This is the thread title below, have a look as lot's of his parts would fit your car...great for money saving mods.
!!!BREAKING!!! Modified Silver Jap Import Classic Subaru Impreza WRX
(It's in the For Sale items, parts & accessories I think)

is there any other reccommended ecu other than apexi power fc + commander as the apexi site says they are now discontinued,

w13dle 18 July 2009 12:19 PM

most people on the early classics tend to go for the esl daughter board check this out www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk

tweaks 18 July 2009 04:20 PM

all sorts of ecu's out there mate just depends how much you want to spend,i mentioned power fc because they're cheap second hand and there's usually someone selling one on here ;)

cbscooby 18 July 2009 05:38 PM

ok cheers mate

ESL live ecu fitted/mapped,(£550+vat) later map sensor (to allow more than 1.1 bar boost £60), 440cc injectors(£80), panel filter and de-cat exhaust(£300). Good for around 300bhp, cost about £1100 ish.

cbscooby 19 July 2009 08:49 AM

cheers pal thats great aint got a panel filter due to previous owner but scoobyclinic reccommend the K&N induction kit saying they work is that correct

cbscooby 19 July 2009 08:51 AM

can i ask do you no anywhere or reccommend anywhere to get these done ESL live ecu fitted/mapped,(£550+vat) later map sensor (to allow more than 1.1 bar boost £60),

cbscooby 19 July 2009 08:57 AM

sorry about this are the injectors easy to fit or do they cost, i've looked on ebay and they all say 440cc sti do they still fit the wrx,

mit 19 July 2009 11:03 AM

I had Zen fit the esl and map sensor, they supplied both. Also as above, Jolly Green Monster(JGM) on here does it, and he'll come to you.
The injectors are easy enough to fit, just make sure you use a little Vaseline to lube the seals to prevent them from snagging on fit.
I'd keep the induction kit you have, save the money.
The only other thing i forgot about was the intercooler. The slanty one your car has is at it's limit with the above, a later sti6 jobbie will fit, and not to expensive.
Where are you based?

cbscooby 19 July 2009 01:22 PM

i'm in nottingham, was thinking about a front mounted intercooler would that be any better

Daz And Minty 19 July 2009 01:38 PM

if your going for no more than 350 the top mount from sti 6 or a newage would be better than front mount as you get alot of lag from them

cbscooby 19 July 2009 01:40 PM

ok cheers mate, will look for 1
