Mark,

You're Insurance quote sounds alright to me - you might get a bit off but it's in the right area.

Are you from the Isle of Man - if so you lucky b4stard. I've been quite a few times for the TT and would love to take my car there.

Chris.

Hi Mark,

I remember my test drive, the barsteward went sideways ! Good reaction from the salesman though, lots of gripping dash board !

I'm with Keith Micheals, but they are all good for Scooby ins.
Regards,
Andyp

That's an excellent quote - check and double check that they know it's an STI import, not a UK spec.

If all's well, go for it!

Makes a change to see a happy insurance thread http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Well, Ive bitten the bullet and just bought my first Scoob.
Its a mint MY94 WRX STI in silver (Believe it or not!)

(It just had to be done especially after I test drove it...The large grin that was on my face for the rest of the day was a big giveaway!)

Im picking it up sometime before the weekend.
Guess what I'll be doing on Sunday!?

Anyway been phoning round for insurance quotes meanwhile.

Best Ive had is £761 from DirectLine...
Im 31, full NCD, no convictions, parked on drive etc.
Does anyone think I'll be able to beat this?

Cheers Guys,

Yes Chris, I live in the Isle of Man
TT week/fortnight is cool!(gonna be a bit dodgy driving round in a nice new shiny car though - a big hairy biker might scratch it!!!)(jk. used to be a hairy myself!)

Thanks for the list Andy. I actually printed that out from a previous post and based my phone calls around it!
I was surprised with DirectLine being the best quote though...

I see where youre coming from Chiark!
I actually bought that policy today, but Im getting all the info sent to me first class post, so I'll check that it says STI straight away.
I think I made it fairly obvious though...

Hmmm, think I may get the phone call tommorrow to say its ready to pick up, as it wasnt in the showroom today, when I drove past!

Cant wait...

Ta
Mark...

I don't want to spoil the party but I didn't think Direct Line insured Jap Imports. Not 100% on this one but I thought it came up when I insured a Euro import.

They do give great quotes but this seems to be because they employ monkeys and pay them with peanuts so make sure you get it in writing. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

A different company gave me a great quote but when the written proposal came through it was for a Sport!

The cheapest for me was £1500 fc-27 fcb-94 standard wrx-north east area fully garaged-cat 1 and all the trimmings. The worst was £3900 for the same( i pay £900 fc for modded uk)so take their flucking arm off and good luck.

Careful !

I've had a problem with Direct Line. They gave me a great quote for my EVO VI and I jumped at it.

I sent them the documentation (I thought) they needed and they wrote back asking me for documentation to support an approved tracker having been fitted.

They admit to their mistake in not advising me of this at the time they quoted but won't move on the matter.

I was daft enough to sign the proposal form without reading the schedule properly so I'm stuffed.

Hi

I'm 29, with a MY00 and pay £620 FC with my wife as a named driver - I'm with Frizzel Insurance and they seem ok.
