Pug 206 Rev Counter Stopped Working

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me why the rev counter on my mother 2001 peugeot 206 has suddenly stopped working. Everything else on the dash is working and the car is running fine, just this stopped working yesterday.
Well I say stopped working it does move a little bit when you rev her but only up to the 2000 mark and then shudders back down to 0. Then doesn't work unless you put your foot all the way down on the accelerator it jumps up to 2000 again and back down.

If anyone could let me know what I could check before paying the dealer to look at her.

Thanks :thumb:

Think this is the sender between the back of the control unit (ie dash) and the gearbox.
Happens quite a lot to pugs :(

Common fault on Puglets. Check the connections to the gearbox incase they've worked loose or are caked in ****e.
