Pug 206 Rev Counter Stopped Working
 

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me why the rev counter on my mother 2001 peugeot 206 has suddenly stopped working. Everything else on the dash is working and the car is running fine, just this stopped working yesterday.
Well I say stopped working it does move a little bit when you rev her but only up to the 2000 mark and then shudders back down to 0. Then doesn't work unless you put your foot all the way down on the accelerator it jumps up to 2000 again and back down.

If anyone could let me know what I could check before paying the dealer to look at her.

try disconnecting the multiplug out of the dash and reconnecting it..

Works for dash faults in many french cars..

its a very common problem on them mate, it needs stripping and new stepper motor putting in, the rev counter and speedo are the same either one or the other eventually dies
