I wonder if any of the uk dealers / suppliers would be interested in buying these in bulk and running a group buy?

wrighty338 12 July 2009 12:41 AM

Just won one on ebay for £98, local too

Happy days

beef-on-the-bone 12 July 2009 12:35 PM

details!!!!

did you go for the GD???

but yeah, a group buy sounds like a good idea :)

wrighty338 12 July 2009 04:41 PM

Yeah, did some research and thanks to the effin genius guys on rs25.com found that GD chassis so, 02 - 06 braces fit classics..looked allover the usa for them...$300-$450 seemed to be the going rate for like sparco ones

Some chap local just split his hawker back to standard and had one custom made in the US for like £300..random search on the bay came up trumps :) going to collect this week. Will update here/project thread with trial fit perhaps but dont really want it in until i find myself some nice seats...hmmm Brides. lairy harness's too i think.

HT04 18 July 2009 05:14 PM

where does the bottom of the vertical bar bolt into? does it go into the bottom seatbelt mount ?

dan

wrighty338 18 July 2009 05:25 PM

il tell you when iv done them bits, probs 2mo

Nolan_WRX 24 July 2009 06:10 PM

Hi mate, wondering if you could do me a favour and take some measurements from the harness bar for me?
I dont really fancy splashing out a few hundred for one of these so i am going to make one my self.
looking for the lengths in this pic and the length of the two vertical supports, idealy between the bolt holes.
also is the bar inch and half thick?
if you could that would be fantastic :thumb:

wrighty338 24 July 2009 08:53 PM

funny that, im also thinking of knocking some up ;)

il measure it for you, but the vertical supports are fully adjustable..

phil739 24 July 2009 09:41 PM

well bloody get on with it instead of spending your time on sc

lol

Nolan_WRX 24 July 2009 10:09 PM

Cheers mate, yeah dont seem that much to them, and have all the tools and equipment to do it.
Have already priced up all the stuff i need, including the rose jointed ends for the vertical supports, just the lenght of the bar would be fine then :thumb:

RED2 25 July 2009 08:39 PM

if you can make them to a good standard you could make a few quid selling them ;)

all i can say at the min is, watch this space over the coming fortnight ;):thumb:

beef-on-the-bone 03 August 2009 10:12 PM

i'd take one if they were a reasonable price, they do seem pricey for what they are!! could also get the fitment a bit tighter in the classic i reckon.......

get on it lads :)

wrighty338 03 August 2009 10:25 PM

whats reasonable do you think?

Sparco ones are £247 + postage + import duty/tax from usa
Others on american ebay are £141 but do not post to UK

Rice Rocket 04 August 2009 09:04 AM

I'd be interested in one at the right price aslong as it ALOT better then the prices above .

Ricey

phil739 04 August 2009 05:08 PM

price has to be better than above, otherwise you might not get alot of interest

i would consider taking one that even wasnt powder coated as my mate has his own company and would do it for me
