Never really been into them before but got it at a good price so took it home...I know feckall about these little cars apart from their made by Nissan....:lol1:

Spec isnt huge but i took it for a power run yesterday where it made 286bhp@1bar which makes it a lot of fun even if its nowhere as qucik as the RA was.
The only thing i dont like is the noise of the thing, i must be really getting old in my 39years because the 5zigen exhaust is just to noisey for my old ears...:lol1:

Yuk, think these cars are disgusting.
Youve got to be crazy to sell a scoob and get one of these.

bioforger 08 July 2009 12:02 AM

290bhp in that car is not to be sniffed at dog :)

wrx287 08 July 2009 01:17 PM

I came close to buying one of these about a year ago. My mate had one running 350bhp and was an absolute animal. Put a sunny gti bonnet on for a full sleeper effect;):D

ryan33hks 08 July 2009 01:51 PM

subaru-impreza-2000 10 July 2009 02:58 AM

Thats one sweet pulsar, i would love to own one in a couple of years. :)

Isit a 5zigen fireball system on there?

KAS35RSTI 10 July 2009 11:20 AM

i have never come across a girl who actually like a pulsar, however for the scoobies its a different story :D

EddScott 10 July 2009 02:10 PM

The wife liked my old GTIR but likes the scoob more.

I had mine for 2 years and was a great little car.

So how quick was your RA?

It made 341 on the rollers but only hit 1.3bar, it made 1.5bar on the road so road power was a bit more.

Carl2 22 July 2009 03:54 PM

That didn't answer my question:p

0-60, 1/4 mile time etc is what I was thinking.:thumb:

jayallen 22 July 2009 04:38 PM

I never run it on the strip at that power level. Last year at Rotorstock i ran a 13.2@106mph when the car was Stock.

Carl2 23 July 2009 06:30 PM

Your Gtir at 286bhp should be able to hit mid to high12s if you can launch it and change gear fast. If it had the same power as your RA, then it would be bye bye RA.:thumb: (assuming your RA had 276bhp and 1270kg when stock)

My RB Gtir (same as your RA, lightweight, close ratio gearbox etc) ran a 13.08 with only 246bhp. It's now running 12.0s with just under 300bhp. (It's lost abit of weight tho;) )

K30FOY 24 July 2009 07:40 PM

Aren't the clutches prone to go a lot on these?

Carl2 25 July 2009 06:34 PM

No. The standard clutch won't last too long with over 280bhp (although mine lasted 4 years with quite abit of drag racing) but who has a standard clutch anymore.

Most of the car is prone to breaking when modified on these :lol1: though they look the part ;)
Gearboxes are weak along with the clutches, engines are good for 1bar but not more unless upgraded, standard brakes are pathetic for the car (standard 14 or 15 inch wheels) but I still like them :D

Tony:)

Engines can do over 400bhp in standard form as long as they've been mapped properly.

Gearboxes are pot luck, some people go through a few, other people haven't broken one in 7.5 years.

Standard brakes are pathetic on an uprated Gtir, but they do the job on a standard car.
