Escort GTI (swap for diesel)

I have just got a new job and will be doing lots of miles.
I am after swapping my r reg escort gti with a/c in navy blue 155k with full history. Just had wishbones drivers drop link changed, coil, plugs and oil. recently had new tyres and front pads. Sports box
In good condition overall. does have a bit of rust on drivers door and some scracthes.
Mot till August and tax till end of dec.
I am after something that does lots of mpg prefer 5 dr and must have bit of tax and some mot.
