HELP - Car hates starting when cold need advice..
I have a 97 wrx version 3 import, i have owned it for around 6 or 7 weeks and it hates starting when cold i have to crank it then try again with some help from the throtle pedal. once its warmed up it will start easy. This is the case if I have started it early in the morning and try again leter in the day its starts fine. Please give me any suggestions as to what it may be. Does the impreza 97 have an electronic choke because I have been told this could be the issue.
Thanks :wonder: |
crank sensor or
coolant temp sensor (normally get a dodgy idle with this and fans coming on at odd times) this is most likely imo Try not to start it with the throttle as i understand this may mess with the ecu reading ( i may be wrong though) |
idel seems fine, afraid she wont fire without some help, guna take into garage but wanted to get an idea before sending it in.

Does it not catch at all or do you get a fluctuating idle then it revs up or does it stall?
Whereabouts are you as somebody may be able to suggest a good garage to go to. |
I had this sort of problem but mine struggled to start on really cold days and would miss fire and stall if i didnt give it throttle... I guessed it needed some new plugs so got some new NGK's and everything was fine again.
