How stupid am I! I have a car with 450bhp/490ft lbs and I still want more, its a fight to keep it pinned to the tarmac on B road's :lol1:. Am saving now while building a type R up as a everyday runner. List as follows at the mo:

GT30HTA Turbo, one of Ross Sports GT30's just made 603bhp on a mates Evo hitting 2bar boost at 3500rpm, thats a 100rpm sooner than my 321V hits 1.8bar!!!!!!! To suuport this a rotated turbo kit, cams, rotated Manifold, some nice cermic coating etc, lots of nice dress-up parts and supporting mods to keep her in one piece :thumb:. Shes on a weight loss program in the mean time.

The GT30HTA's the evo boys are using are gobsmacking! The GT30HTA runs a clipped billet 35 wheel I think, hence 600bhp. But to make this power and spool better than my 321V on a 2.4 (remember mine is a 2.5) is out of this world.

Not sure how much the shorter header/manifold length helps spool or the stroke on the 2.4 (might be helping), this aside its some turbo. Having said that I'm sure things will move on again in the next few months :lol1:.

Shorter equal manifold will help spool on the Evo. Also the Evos tend to make more power "easier" due to their symetrical head ports. Unlike the nasty doglegged exhaust ports that we have to put up with. lol

No updates peter. All is good :thumb:. Been playing in the car quite bit recently, scared myself sh**less Sat night for the first time in a long time (back end started twitching flat out on a big sweeping downhill corner :eek:, well below 60mph of course). Brakes have caught me out a few times (still running standard disks), can struggle to pull her up from speed. All those people that say a 450/450 set up is the best for the road are probably right as it is to fast for B roads, still want more though!

old thread i know but a good read.. side question: how did you remove the badge from the grill?

Very easy mate, you can unclip the mesh behind the grill, I then chopped the badge section out and gave it to a local bodyshop who smoothed the bottom, reinfored the top and sprayed it satin black before clipping the mesh back in. Looks 'factory' which was what I wanted :thumb:.
