Can you people out there give me some reviews on your M Stations please.
Also do they fit onto the standard double din cd/casette player in the STI 7? Do they jog, ie do the hardrives get shaken around or are they are in good vibration absorbing bay. Cheers, Dave. |
OK -
They sound good (depending on the program used to rip the CD); can't complain about the quality & I'm seriously fussy :D The standard software is pretty bad - I've found LAME to be the best one, & there's a GUI interface for it which I can't remember the name of which is very good as well. The units work as an addition to the head unit - the head-unit you have needs to have a line-in on it to get the sound, & you need to find somewhere to put the (cabled) remote control it comes with. Never had it 'skip', not once. I think they have quite a large read-ahead buffer (I read 2 minutes somewhere) so shouldn't be any problems there! Lots of other stuff in this area. I don't think I've heard of anyone not being happy with the thing - once it's installed, that is  |
Great thanks for that.
Any sites you can recommend? I own my own computer trade counter so first thing I shall be doing is replacing the harddrive. But they are very fragile things and I didn't know how they would respond being bounced around while trying to work. |
Agree with the above comments... However be careful when changing the hard drive as the operating system only works with certain types of drive i believe (Fujitsu as standard I think)

Better act quick then, as fujitsu have pulled out of the harddrive IDE market they only deal in SCSI now.
