You should never beat your heroes ?

Dunx was out tonight enjoying a ride in a 2.5 Type-R, like you do :notworthy:notworthy

On my way home, in mine, I got a bit frisky across Emley Moor..... and caught up to a spotless Porsche 928GT in black :luvlove:
When I was younger THAT was a proper supercar...... At the T-junction he boots it (sadly only up to the national limit) and I followed him to the M1.

As we accelerate off the roundabout I boot mine up the slip road and realise I'm about to "waste" it, so back off. It just seemed immature to have "rubbished" such a nice car (?).

So I waited till my turn-off at Junction 41, and blew his doors off - childish (big style).

Still a proper "classic supercar" imho.

Like they say; never meet your heroes, they will always disappoint you........apart from George Best in his later years who would always do what you expected ( lived fairly close, drank a lot and tried to sh*g everything that moved)

Nice one Syn, that's a lot funnier....

I would have been even more impressed dunx, if you'd had said you didn't try at all out of respect for a quality historic motor. I can understand though why you booted it at J41 though to make a point. :D

Mr. Respectable was in the inside lane being just that....

As a "chav" in Scoob, I needed to stretch her legs once this week.

P.S. I still find amazing that ordinary punters like me can end up with a "ordinary" car that can so easily humble, (what in my opinion was a performance icon ), which I lusted after SO many years ago.

You could have called for a coffee as you passed 41, nowt else to do at w*rk :D

Had a blat with a Ferrari 308 (Magnum PI car) with 2 posh geezers in it and won in my little old MY00 PPP car (though not much in it), dont think they were impressed by that (but it did look better :lol1: )

Fookin love 928's, it was the first proper fast car i went in when i was 15. some older mates had 2 litre Cortina's MK2 RS2000's that i deemed fast at the time, but this simply blew me away. It was my Dads neighbour and after me hankering for a ride he chucked my Dad the keys.

I was left speechless for days afterwards.

TBH as Dave will confirm, I drive for weeks without "opening the taps" on mine and forget quite what it is capable of...

I was quite surprised just how much it rolled coming off the roundabout, and he obviously had to modulate his acceleration to maintain his "line" up the slip road....

I wouldn't swap mine for it, but it could have my garage space..... at the right price.

LOL

dunx

P.S. Dave, don't you have security, or "arsey" colleagues to worry about ?

corradoboy 27 June 2009 10:44 AM

No security, my colleague smells arsey though

dunx 27 June 2009 10:56 AM

Yeah blame him.....

Opps !

dunx

P.S. Grabs coat and runs for the door....
