Heard on Southend Radio that Essex Police have screwed up big time by not employing someone with the correct authorisation to issue fines for fixed pens and speeding tickets etc.

According to the radio this could amount to compensation running around the £50million mark :eek:

I bet there is going to be a deluge of work for Milamber and the like lol;)

As another thing that could be linked, could Essex Police be held responsible for a hike in peoples Insurance costs, if they had been caught 2 maybe 3 times in the stipulated period ?

Of course its been spent, Specs cameras all over the place for starters.

And earning (if you can call it that :mad: ) more revenue !!!!

I don't know about you, but I can see someone giving this a run a Court, the Court will find in the favour of Essex Constabulary, as it's only an admin error rather then calling any evidence into question. This will give Essex a stated case and any other appeals will be dismissed.

What do you think?

I'm just waiting to see how this pans out Ed. At the moment it just looks media driven with huge inconsistencies. Admin errors can have an effect and for that reason it might be worth someone having a go but I have my doubts, as do you, as to the chances of success.

Equally, if one person IS successful then it opens the floodgates. The money has to come from somewhere..... :eek:
