Would this be suitable for use with a Hybrid FMIC on a MY03 STi?

dynamix 21 June 2009 05:30 PM

I would imagine so - just need to connect to the hoses that are there (or add hoses if they have been removed).

Duncan, can you measure the O.D. of both the bottom IC inlet and the side recirc outlet for me please?...

Sabas 23 June 2009 05:27 PM

will this go on a 97 uk turbo with a P1 TMIC?

Does it come with all the bits needed?

Both inlets require a hose with 32mm ID (or thereabouts)

Not sure what else you would need to fit this but I have a couple of jubilee clips I will throw in :)

It's from a MY97/98 (Sep 96 - Aug 98) v.3/4.

The P1 TMIC is a v.5/6 design with the flat, 2-bolt flange for a different style of recirc DV. Simpler to get Forge's replacement for that design... See the last 3 DVs on this page:-

Cheers. Just gotta measure my Hyperflow FM's (not yet on the car) DV take-off port (large!) to see if there's a suitable step-down silicone hose available anywhere... :thumb:

Okay, I'm confused, the intercooler is silver, says powered bt STI at the top, but still has the metal pipe attached to which you attach the recirc valve? It's on my 1997 uk turbo, thanks and sorry for hijacking the thread!

Is the metal pipe a short, curved one at the very end of the IC on the N/S (passenger side) of the car? If so, then you DO have a v.3/4 TMIC on your car i.e. the correct one for your year (can't be a P1 one then :wonder:).

Yes, then dynamix's DV is designed for that particular TMIC. :thumb:

yes it has a curved bit on it, I assumed it's a P1 TMIC because I got it from a guy who has a P1 with a FMIC. I'll have to check, but it defiantely has the curved bit, do I need a blanking plate or anything?

No. The above recirc DV's bottom port fits to that curved pipe with a bit of 32mm ID silicone. Then you need a long bit of 32mm ID silicone to attach the recirc port on the side of the DV to the inlet port on the turbo intake pipe.

Finally, a 3-4mm silicone vac line to the vac nipple at the top of the DV to a suitable vac connection from the IM e.g. splice a T-piece into a boost gauge's vac line connection, or similar...
