2.5L EXHAUST BURBLE ???

Hi folks, I have a MY06 STI with standard exhaust unit, Although it sounds ok, it lacks earlier versions 'burble'. Any recommendations from 2.5L STI owners regarding exhaust mods...dont wanna spend fortune...looking at maybe just new back box???
Thank folks!!:thumb:

cat back exhuast or if you want full burble go for a full decat turbo back with up pipe.

if it's just a subtle noise you want, go for a de-res center pipe, and mild back box, if you do what uk300 suggests, and what i have had done to my 2.5, then, depending on back box, it will be a decent scoob burble on gentle throttle, but will scare old people and children when you floor it.

My 2.5 was silent, although it is only a WRX, just fitted a system from Japspeed, got that lovely burble now.

i have a TSL GrpN back box, decatted from the turbo back with hayward and scott pipes, and a de-res pipe, i had it done 2yrs or so ago, just after i had the car, so can't really remember the cost, but i think it was 350-400, i had i mapped a week after, i just took it easy until the map. the map costs about 700, so it might be worthwhile getting a package from powerstation or one of the others, £1150 for a no cat miltek system, or £1400 with a sport cat, should give you 340bhp & 340ft/lbs.

or if it's just the noise you want, just go for a backbox, no map needed, £200 should sort you out, the problem is what backbox do you get, soooo many choices and differences in sound.

I changed the resonated section for a non res one, and the back box to a vortex afterburner and the burble is well and truley back :). got back box and deres section off ebay for £160 :thumb:
