subaru engine oil?

hi chaps.

i had already asked this question recently but i got confused a bit more today.
want to do a oil and filter change on my subaru impreza sport so non turbo, was going to put in castrol magnatec 10w 40 semi synthetic, but went to halfords there book recomended part synthetic, went to kap nissan/subaru/peugeot dealer today and they said any 10w 40 semi should be ok, i was going to choose either castrol magnatec semi syn 10w 40 or mobile super s semi syn 10w 40, so does anyone really know what to recomend please, the car has done 133,000 miles now. waldonway subaru say they use castrol magnatec, only trouble is its only supplied in 4litre bottle then you but another 1 litre bottle for £10 on top of £26!

thankyou.

The recommended oil is shell helix 10w40 semi synthetic, not over keen on magnatec tbh, you can get much better but at that mileage any decent 10w40 semi synth will be ok :)

yeh any 10w40 semi is fine. ive used magnatec before with no problems. i use halfords own 10w40 semi now as it is cheap enough.
