ECU price for breaking please

OK - gonna break the scoob
I've had my ECU mapped - and need an idea for the price???
Any thoughts please :D

mikef04 10 June 2009 06:59 PM

what make of ecu, standard or aftermarket, will obviously need to be re-mapped :thumb:

Ms Gooner 1 10 June 2009 07:20 PM

why does it need another map? Am I being stupid LMAO

As I understand it, it was standard but because our scoob was a MY99 UK - we could map it (ECU tec?). So after completing our mods - we had jolly green monster come map it for us?

Does that help :lol1:

mikef04 10 June 2009 07:22 PM

it needs to be re-mapped to the next car as mod's etc will be different and its mapped for your cars optimum performance, not 100% on price but waiting for a phone call from some who will know. are you selling the wheels?? :norty:

mikef04 10 June 2009 07:26 PM

Subaru Impreza Classic 99 Uk turbo Ecu on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 21-Jun-09 10:45:56 BST) found this from grade a :(

cool i will get back to you i have to speak to my girlfriend first, btw thanks for the side light :thumb:

If your ecu has the ecutek licence on it, you will get a lot more than £39.99 for it. this means who ever buys it doesnt need a ecutek licence and just has to pay there chosen mapper a fee to tweak it to their car.:thumb:

V5 - thats how i understood it (something like that anyway LOL).

As for the wheels :lol1: they may be staying :norty: Looking at possibly buying a rolling shell and swapping it all over :D

spally 11 June 2009 08:46 AM

vicki i sold my standard UK99 ECU for £50 about 3 years ago. So with yours having a map licence on it, i would say you will easily get around £100 for it.

I've been offered £150 -so thats a good price you think?

Although - think gooner is gonna go see a rolling shell later :norty: - so i may wel have another scoob pretty soon :luvlove: - just not the same going on scooby meets in an evo :lol1:

kevin wrx 11 June 2009 12:04 PM

just stay clear of roundabouts

spally 11 June 2009 12:34 PM

thinking about this i think it's about £150 for the map licence new. so you could maybe hold out for a bit more the £150.

but i may be corrected by someone more in the know.

joey_turbo 11 June 2009 12:48 PM

I give 200 for mine, got it from Ian (Trails) on here. The mods were near enough the same as what I had, so I haven't had it re-mapped in over a year since I got it.

V4JDMSTi 11 June 2009 02:22 PM

If you're swapping it all over, make a track machine out of it. 2 front seats, pair of harnesses, roll cage etc etc. :norty:

Would still need to fix the side of it tho. Got a price from Subaru for the centre side panel that holds the pillar - couldn't beleive it was only £126 - then had a quote for fitting it, repairing, spraying the car and correcting the dent in the boot and the key mark on the bonnet - £1000 - so my car got written off for £1130 :cuckoo:

I will sell the rolling shell of ours............. if anyone wants a project :D

V4JDMSTi 11 June 2009 02:38 PM

I was getting at instead of transferring the interior over to the new shell, making it a track machine. ;) ABW might want your shell. Could be his next project :D

So the insurance company are suggesting that your car is only worth £2260! you could prove to them that it's quite easily not. To buy another one in that condition etc would be a lot more.

customdanioc 11 June 2009 08:31 PM

So are they paying out than ?? If so havent you got to settle and buy it back first before stripping ???

Save buying rolling shell why dont you just get yours fixed...better the devil you know ?? :thumb:

Ms Gooner 1 11 June 2009 09:15 PM

LOL dan - NO they aint paying out
its really a last resort to strip it - would much prefer to get a shell and swap our engine into it. tbh even if we got our one repaired i'm not sure i'd feel totally safe in it now - and i don't think our eldest would step foot in it again - all that noise and jolting scared the heebies outta her! Poor little thing!

e6tony 12 June 2009 08:29 AM

gooners, come down and look at e6grahams shell and see what you think !!!
