oil pressure around 8 bar when cold, dropping to 2 and a bit when hot.

Temperatures - highest i have seen so far is 100C, measured at the top of the engine. More like 90C in normal use?

OK,

Using the Defi gauges with the Oil Temp probe in number 3, I see approx 80-90degC most of the time when driving around town and on cruise. When on boost for more than a couple of seconds, I tend to see about 100-110degC. I've got an MY00 with the plastic undertray on. I'm fairly certain that these figures match a few others and I seem to remember Bob (of BRD fame) saying that when he was using a sump bung temp sender, he was seeing about 60degC but upon moving to number 3, was seeing about 80.

Pressure - cold from idle I see just about 7bar. 2bar (or is it 3, I can't remember) on idle. 6bar when warm and revs are above 1500rpm.

Don't thrash your car until your oil hits 80degC BTW :)

Matt :)

As additional reference - At normal running temp. Oil press. 80/85 psi rising to 90psi+ if using high revs Oil temp. with sump sender - 80c normal rising to 100c+ stuck in traffic on the M25!
