SKY & No Signal Message

I have Sky+ (living room) and a normal Sky box in the garden room.
The normal box is displaying a no signal message but the Sky+ is working fine.
I have reset the normal box using methods found via google but still no signal.
Any ideas?

Nik.

I doubt this has anything to do with your setup but I had this with my Sky HD box. My problem was I only have one feed into it as off a communal dish. I had Sky Anytime enabled which meant when it was in standby it would download the anytime shows but once I came to use the box I had the no signal message. turned off anytime and been fine since.

Did you go through the procedure to reset the LNB's? I had a similar problem on our Sky+ box and doing that, then rebooting seemed to do the trick.

Wonder if you can get it fixed or replaced for free if you threaten to cancel your contract with them - assuming you are out of the minimum period (although if you aren't you'd probably be covered by the warranty)

The signal has mysteriously returned as quick as it went.
I'm wondering if there was some dampness in the connector at the dish end or something?
Anyway it works now.

an easy way of checking if it is the box that is having problems is to disconnect then take to where the sky plus box is and try one of the cables there.

to get an engineer round is about £65 and has a 30 or 90 day(i cant remeber which) warrenty.
