Oil Pressure Gauge

Hi All,

Im having problems with my oil pressure guage since day one (i got three other gauges and these work spot on)

Anyway, i start the car up and the gauge goes way up into the red, (will get exact reading later) when the car is on ignition it goes about 1/2 way

Now someone said change the earth and earth it to the engine, i did this and it stayed the same, i then earthed it directly to the battery and it was the same...

Now the pressure sender unit is touching the coolant tank, will this make it go wrong?

Im running outta ideas

What gauges have you got? I have just fitted my prosport ones to mine, and it sounds like you may have a faulty braided adaptor, or gauge as i cant see your engine actually running too much pressure

my oil pressure on start up is around 120 i believe...

pressure drops down all the way almsot once the engine is warm and idlin.

I cant remember the name of it, got it off ebay... sure they're like the autogauges one's out there

Anyhoo... when you put ignitin on, it goes half way, then start the engine it goes well over 100psi when the engine is started
