No but there's a lot of snow next to the road suggesting it's very cold and that there could be snow/ice anywhere on the road.

Yes but think of the charge temps ;)

Also if that was in Germany they'd be on winter tyres, so no wonder there were traction issues! In fact winter tyres must be speed limited not sure you can do near 300kph on them??

to be fair the Audi is two's up

but seriously it takes some grunt to pull away like that

reminds me when my mate outdragged me, i was on my Chopper -- he was on a 10 speed racer - b4stard

Like 700 lbft at 3150 RPM on stock turbos and 99 RON? :D

That is even more than a chipped 335d ;)

Funnily enough the only person I know who has one is selling it after only 6 months. I asked him why and he said he felt it was soulless. Mega fast with fantastic grip but found it too clinical.

Tbh, I was always surprised he'd bought one as he didn't seem the type. He had a 993 turbo for years and then a Ferrari 575 (I think). He has now bought a Lotus Evora

Mine just feels hilarious. I'm still laughing every time I drive it.

But then I've never got heritage and character in cars that are flawed in the go/turn/stop dept. It is like an incompetent employee making excuses that they are nice. They get sold or they get fired ;)

Does it tell you jokes then?;)

john banks 05 March 2010 06:41 PM

No, but neither do fairground rides :)

You need a 12 pot twin turbo AMG Merc or Veyron to top that - chipped 335d is MILES behind!

I would never want to own one of those cars now for exactly that reason. Whether they were more incompetent than their peers when they came out is a different matter, wasn't the E-type pretty much up there when it came out?

my 2 pennath

Boss had 996 or 997 TT cost 90k anyway, and it was always in the garage, he eventually swapped it for a 4s and that was like a rock never went wrong just worked. he now owns an R8

As for the BMW vs id seriously go for that or an Rs4 tiptronic, My m8 owns a 330i and in this snow weve had it was stuck on his drive for 3 weeks, he eventually came home in his bosses RS4 and i loved it hehe, but i agree on the 400bhp stuff, it doent feel like it, but then again neither does my m8s FQ400 now you get inside a porsche and that is just RAW power totally diff i think than any other build.

So my cash id have a funcky 4S or an RS4 tip :)

too many BMs about not special enough
