Two possibly related issues with my classic :(

Not sure if these two things are related or not.

I have a 97 UK turbo, apex ecu mapped a couple of years ago @ TEG. The past few weeks the car has started juddering at low revs (up to around 1200 - 1500rpm). For example, 1st or 2nd gear, clutch up and just feeding in the power (normal driving round town) and the car will judder / be very flat (no acceleration) until after 1XXXrpm then pick up and run perfectly.

Plugs were changed 6 months ago and it's due a minor service next week. Only started a few weeks ago, and runs normally otherwise.

Second issue possibly related is i've tried to increase the idle revs using the apex controller but it doesn't appear to translate to the rev counter even tho apex shows the increase under monitor. When i've used this in the past there has been a direct link to me increasing or decreasing the idle revs on the controller and what i see at the dash.
