Beware Of This Ebay Seller

eBay UK Shop - DISCOUNT CAR PRODUCTS: Performance Xenon Bulbs, NGK Spark Plugs TRADE PRICES, BMW

Bought a front mount intercooler from this seller for my 05 wrx
Didnt come with correct parts or instructions when contacted was pretty much told to piss off.

Asked about sending item back and was told it was bought as sold online explained lack of parts and said it left shop with all the parts pretty much made out id lost some when unpacking.

Refused to take back or give refund.

Spoke with ebay who then said that the can only monitor the seller at present.

Just a little heads up to beware

Problem with item was no bracket or pre-done place for Dump Valve and none of the garages around where i live want to take the job on of drilling the tubing to mount the DV.

Ask him for a refund again under the distance selling laws, if still no send him a link to here plus pit posts on all the car forum sites. Tell him you will also check with cimpanies hiise and hmrc to see if he is legit, I.e. If not he's going to get a tax and vat bill!

start a dispute with paypal, explain what has gone on and forward any emails you have to them. i have done this twice and got my money back both times. it takes a while as the dispute ca not be opened unitl a certin time after the complition f sale and then once raised you have to wait 7 days i think for the seller to respond then in my cases paypal have refunded my money and assume then go about getting it back from the seller

best of luck

doormatty 25 May 2009 07:03 PM

I would have done this Stevie but i paid by credit card over the phone because my paypal account was locked out.

Ebay have basically said there isnt much they could do apart from send a angry email which doesnt get my money back.

If i can find a garage close enough to where i live ( Darlington ) ill take it to them and ask them about the drilling but the ones here have just said no.

Get in touch with your credit card company, they usually offer some protection and have my money back this way a couple of times in the past:thumb:

Based in N.Ireland

When i said id bring it back myself they said enjoy the drive

cossie-nutter 27 May 2009 12:45 AM

Any news on this did he refund you ?

doormatty 28 May 2009 10:33 AM

Company Manager is refusing to even talk to me on the phone now when i call
so i got my brother to call and as soon as he mentioned about the front mount the phone went dead.

Spoke with my bank and investigation department money as already gone through so cant block the payment.

But the bank have opened a dispute with the company which can lead to them losing there credit card payments facility.

Not holding out much hope now will just have to try and get someone to fit the front mount and modify it.

as mentioned, Harvey Smith is in Darlington, top bloke and deals with front mounts a lot. He's on here, or you can get him via his email address:

harveysmith1@btinternet.com

What was the company name and location? Perhaps post up on the Northern Ireland section or ScoobyIreland.com - for Irish Subaru owners and enthusiasts! and pressure or knowledge of them can be used.

It is far too easy for people to take your money on the internet these days and get away with dodgy deals. Seeing cases like this makes me really angry because there is no reason why they should just give you your money back or send the missing parts to you. If you look at his feedback you are not the only one who has had this problem (alarm bells should start ringing when seeing feedback like that).

Always use Paypal, even though they have often let people down (such as myself). I have sent a complaint to Ebay stating that the seller has been unprofessional and demanded they are investigated.

I hope you get you you intercooler sorted soon mate, I am sure there are a few people who could help you out nearish to where you live.

result.

Lucky like, I guess ebay don't have to do that for you.

As said above, good feedback is a must, although it is sometimes tempting to take a punt.

Pleased it's worked out for you mate anycase. :luxhello::thumb:

Scooby-J 29 May 2009 03:50 PM

His feedback isn't great, mind with the amount of items he's shifting it could be acceptable to get 40 negative in a month. Would make me think twice if it was an expensive part though.

Feedback

Glad things got worked out for you! :thumb:

If you have been refunded the money for the FMIC I'd put it towards one of Harvey's Hybrid FMIC's rather than mess around with what you have.

Shaun

nerocircus 29 May 2009 06:33 PM

Agreed. They look like a quality bit of kit and, from what I hear, are supposed to be just as good as some of the more expensive FMICs.

naughtyhunnybunny 29 May 2009 07:00 PM

That is fantastic news for you Matty, makes a real change to see a rotten ebayer get their come uppance's, really pleased you have your refund..
Perfect end to the week, Julie :luxhello:
