remap costs and where to in bristol

whats the average cost of getting a remap done? i have fitted 440cc injectors, full 3in system inc frontpipe, cone induction kit and fmic.
does anyone know of a decent specialist in bristol who can do remaps?

There is Powerstation in Tewkesbury or Bob Rawle in Swindon?

Powerstation did my first remap - I was very pleased with that for 3 years (273bhp/273lbft).

Bob has just done my second remap and extremely pleased with that at the mo (325bhp/320lbft).

First remap cost £550 - Ecutek.

Map last week cost £280 - as licence already bought first time.

Take a trip to plymouth mate!! Alan Jeffery, enginetuner.co.uk. Got my standard scooby upto 273BHP n 290 ftlb torque. £500 inc vat with ecutec. This way you get to burn rubber on the way down and shred tarmac on the way home!! Next time i go with upgrade turbo its £120(ish) inc vat for second remap. Or you could go thr full hog n get simtec remap. Email him for details. Really helpful and the boys know their s**t.

With the new injectors probably best to drive it gently to the mappers, lots of fun on the way back though :-)

Before you get it mapped through ECUTEK and pay the license fee i'd look around, I've had mine mapped by a couple of mappers (already ECUTEK'D before I had it), and TBH the car didn't drive as good as I thought it would after it was mapped. Latest Map was done by Andrew Carr (AndrewC username on SN) and the car as been perfect since. Personal experience I'd go for a road map rather than a RR map.

another vote for Bob Rawle in swindon.
the guy really knows his stuff and has sorted my car a treat, something powerstation couldnt do, but thats another story!

I had my car mapped on the road by Bob Rawle, a modified (with standard turbo and injectors) hawkeye 2.5 WRX and Bob mapped it to 285bhp and 390 lbs/ft torque. :notworthy

The car now pulls like a train due to the massive torque gained and is probably quicker than a lot of cars running with more bhp. :)

Another vote for Bob. :thumb:

No it is definitely 390 lb/ft of torque, I checked and confirmed with bob as it surprised me as well. Bob says that the 2.5 engine can produce a lot of torque when compared to the 2.0 engine. :notworthy

Once I decide which turbo upgrade route to go down vf39/43, md321t or td05 20g then I will be going back to see bob, and let's see where the bhp/torque is then:thumb:

Yer mate, have fun with that one!! :thumb:

I'm running a V5 Turbo 2000 with decat, induction and first stage remap givin me 273BHP and 392Nm torque. I'll probably be putting a VF34 and second stage remap putting her in the region of 320/330 BHP but not sure of the torque.

Once my wallet has recovered its engine out, rebore, upgraded internals, FM intercooler, high flow fuel system and a dustbin for a turbo but not sure which one yet. :freak3:
