New Owner Help Please

Hi All,

Just picked up a 2006, 56 plate WRX STL Eagle Eye.
Apart from me grining until my gums bleed when I half tried the power near home, a few questions you could help with.

The steering makes a funny noise, feels notchy when on full lock when trying to park, normal?
The car is hard to set off in first gear, clutch very snatchy, normal? (I have to get used to it etc)?

Hi,

Do STI have front fog lights under the covers? There is no switch in the car etc.

Mrfastbaz 23 May 2009 08:19 PM

i think you wil find that there is nothing under the covers no lights....

Hi,

Thought so, can they be retro fitted easily?

The centre diff can cause clucking when manoeuvring at low speed.

The clutch is very heavy in Scoobs and can be troublesome until your leg gets used to it.

Fogs are easily retro-fitted and available from the dealers, the main question is WHY ? On all my cars over the years, I have probably used front fogs legally and to any practical benefit three or four times at most. Spend money on worthwhile handling, suspension and chassis mods to make your powerful car faster to drive and safer for you and others

ive got some front fogs with covers that ill swap for your plain ones if interested

I live on the top of a hill, next to a lot of open country and get a lot of early morning mist etc.
I want to keep the same covers etc but have the lamps under them, just incase.

You can't do that. It's either fog surrounds or covers. They don't fit over each other AFAIK. You can fit the lights without surrounds and then put the covers over them, but at 5am on a cold misty morning, I certainly couldn't be bothered walking around the car clipping body panels on/off and trying to store them so they don't get scratched.

Its not something I would do a lot of granted, but some mornings its been very difficult to even see the white lines. If its to difficult, I wont bother, but if its simple to do, why not lol

On the steering, it did feel a bit like diflock on a truck is on, like the car didnt want to follow the direct the steering wheel is pointing but it does and feels rough. This is only when parking and on full lock.
