I am about to fit the one remaining item missing from my Prodrive Edition MY94, that being a PPP ECU.
From new an MY94 Prodrive edition had no ECU upgrade as one was not available until 1996.

However, back to my question..... what pleased you most when you PPP'd your Subaru ?

Increased Power ?
Better Drivability ?
Smoother Running ?

On my MY00, I'd say the improvement in drivability was the best thing, and I seem to get better mileage too :D:D.
There was no problem with smoothness before or since.

Martin.

does PPP'd car HAVE to run on 97+ ron fuel?

Cheers

Yep - if you want to maintain performance.

Prodrive state SUL is the minimum as the ECU is mapped for 97 RON - if you stick anyhing lower in it will pink (det) & retard the ignition.

Pre MY97 are very slow to advance ignition again - but can be fixed with a couple of tanks of SUL and an ECU reset.

Later MYs (99 & 00) are much better at advancing timing - but may benefit from an ECU reset.

MY01s do not need a reset AFAIK.

Well, it's finally fitted and I'm impressed.
Certainly feels better than when I was running 14psi with a Bleed Valve.

Feels alot stronger and from a lot lower in the Rev band......
