Which way to go with remap

I have put up a couple of posts but as I know little about the subject I am still not sure..... I was thinking I wanted to go for a simtek but what other options do I have and whats the best for my car and my wallet :wonder:

Cars a V4 Type R with De-cat, FMIC(not fitted yet) and planning to do the fuel pump.

Thanks

Walton

i would say go for the Apexi Power Fc mate,

for your level of mods it would be perfect

Any main reason for going Simtek?

I have a power fc fitted to sti 3 and have run it 450bhp for the last 10k miles with no issues and the commander is great for monitoring sensors and temps.

I am now switching to a simtek but the only reason I am doing this is due to going rotated and wanting to run without a maf.

Running below 400bhp (ish) I'd always go with a MAF based system. But that's just me. Newage is slightly different and the hawkeye is the ultimate (running upto 550bhp with standard ECU/MAF setup).

personaly i'd have a solris over the simtek, bit more expensive but a more powerfull ecu, but no mater what you choose i'd go aftermarket rather than apexi bolt on to do away with the pesky maf

The maf is only pesky on the 99/00 cars, the maf on the 97/98 cars is very robust as is the one on the newage cars.

tbh i wouldn't run that kinda power with a maf new age or classic.

I have run that power for 10k miles with no issues, so what is your reasoning for not running a maf?

Recommended by AFP with the mods I have. Plus looking towards the future when I go for 400+ BHP..

dont trust em mate, i blew 2 during mapping before switching to autronics and that was at 340's

prob should add mines an my00, but mate had a bug eye, was running fine with no issues untill it went to be mapped and baseline run showed the fueling was way out and the maf was fecked, even though nothing seemed wrong with the car
