MD321H - dyno plots

Could people with dyno plots for the above please post them up in one place.

Im looking for a 400hp 2.0 turbo - hence the interest. As cars / dynos are all different the more plots the better.

"The MD321H is superbly suited to 2.0lt cars aiming for 400bhp, where spool up, and throttle response is stunning, and it can achieve this at circa 1.45bar.

For those with stronger built engines, and able to run higher boost, 420-430bhp is achievable.

For me the 18G suits the 321H better. Im just getting my 18G Ball bearing converted, zirotec coated, wastegate ported, cleaned up inside housing and the turbines clipped. Then will be taking the 321H off my car.

But the 18g is 'only' a 350-375bhp turbo compared to the 321H's 400bhp potential? :wonder:

Are you not running 400bhp then?... Or will the mods to the 18g that you mention 'turn' it into a 375-400 turbo (with the benefit of excellent low-down spool, of course ;))?

Ahhh :)... how much you looking for? PM me if you like, cheers.

Did the HS380 make 411.8bhp on a 2.0-litre running V-Power only? What are your supporting mods?

lunar tick 20 May 2009 12:08 AM

I'm running 415bhp and 380lb/ft on a 321H - will post a graph tomorrow

Cheers. :thumb:

In that case, do you know roughly what the HS380 would make on a 2.0 running straight V-Power only (no meth, no E85, no etc.)?

Anger 20 May 2009 12:19 AM

Not sure as i use a MD321h and i only use V-power :D

joz8968 20 May 2009 12:53 AM

No worries mate... I'm jealous lol :lol1:

Anger 20 May 2009 12:57 AM

REANO said his MD321h was coming off :norty:

Mus 20 May 2009 01:17 AM

for the 370 to 420 bracket theres is lots of turbos available harvey seems to have some great option with with hs380 and hs420 and they are well priced and by the looks of it they do the job just ask GOING FOR 400 OR SORRY GONE WELL PAST 400 lol.
i had a 20G it made 419.5 with 10% meth. then you got the 18G which is also a good turbo with great response. it all depends on what you want to spend as there isnt much in it to be honest

typeRv4 20 May 2009 02:50 AM

Im not worrying at this stage over cost but the turbo over 400hp with best mid range. Area under the graph is as important as peak.

The HS380 / 420 which i think are the same or similar to the area52 ST380 ST420 ??

Do look to have very impressive graphs as well. But there seems very few people to have used those so far. If people have plots of those as well then please post up.

The ST420 is very impressive from the one dyno plot i have seen from area52. But i assume that was on there in house testing car which might have a better setup than the average motor.

But also i have heard but not seen plots of the MD321H on good setups making 430hp

Mine is with meth's but look at how much sooner i get power right along the rev range compared to angers. If im car was a classic and the same driver drove the two car's back to back i feel he would rather mine. (If u think im wrong james please say?

Here is a graph of the HS380 with out meth's.

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...d26/graph1.jpg

My turbo is up for £700:thumb: (leaves u money for other things compared to the 321h would)

joz8968 20 May 2009 01:59 PM

So G'4'400, the graph immediately above is the HS380 on straight V-Power only then?! :)

Yes that is it running on a sit v4 with all supporting mods mapped by steve simpson who makes simtek.

When's your HS380 coming off?

Would you say that it's 'better' than a 20g? Can it make more under-the-graph power/torque (i.e. spool earlier), and indeed peak, than the 20g?

Going 4 400bhp 20 May 2009 03:15 PM

Mine is off already and sitting next to me ready to go.

I would not know much about the 20g, only map i have ever seen was Mus and mine made power before his car. But it also depends on how good you engine is? And his was very very good!!!

Every car will make different power.

"Mistake"..... I have just had a look at the email Harvey sent me and the result above was using 1.5ml on NF boost to a tank of flue.

If you want my turbo ill give u a free bottle with it as i do not have a scooby anymore.

Ian 20 May 2009 03:23 PM

here is a older graph of my 20g with 10% meth, but how come my cross over point of bhp and lbft isnt until 6000 reves, thought they were ment to be at 5250k reves or something like that?

banny sti 20 May 2009 03:25 PM

Due to having different scales for the bhp and torque figures:)

Anger 20 May 2009 03:34 PM

Have you got a boost graph Ash, as i was wondering if it stayed all the way to the red line like mine (7500rpm)

Just havnt seen one put up and yours will always spool faster and get there faster with the Meths, unless both cars run back to back with the same fuel you cant compare IMO

James

Going 4 400bhp 20 May 2009 03:42 PM

Here you go...

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...6/SDC12599.jpg

The blue lines are the HS380

In 3rd gear on the road full boost was by 3500

Agree with what you said about the fuel but my block was never great at holding power that is why i put Harveys graph up to:thumb:

All so i would say if you can (and this is out to everyone!) Run your car on meths!!!!! It is the dogs!!!

Anger 20 May 2009 03:47 PM

Cheers mate

Going to start using Meths just for competition use but may well start using it more :thumb:

Ian 20 May 2009 03:53 PM

i have got around 200L of the stuff, when i get my car back after the engine rebuild, i was gonna just use v-power, but am thinking about usin the meth again?? hmmm think think think

Going 4 400bhp 20 May 2009 03:55 PM

Trust me! You will be shocked by the way the car drives after using it!:top:

Why is the torque so low?? I would expect more then that???

banny sti 21 May 2009 10:24 AM

Agree with Ash on this, especially as your are running vvt heads.
