Specialist Subaru Servicing in NI?
Anyone know of any subaru specialists for servicing, upgrades etc in and around Belfast?
Cheers, Sam. |
Head over to www.scoobyireland.com as a few Subaru Specialists in the Belfast area would post on that site and I'm sure you'll find the best advice for your needs.

Hi
If you go on to scoobyireland.com have a chat with WRCHammy. Hes done loads of work for me and I highly recommend him. He can get most parts and has a good workshop at his disposal. PM me if you need his number. Cheers, Rob |

OMA in Mallusk, works almost entirely on Subarus, knows them inside out and is a very honest person.
Also has tuned two scoobys that are inside the top 20 fastest in the world. 07973830587. |
Thanks for the tips guys. I think I'll give OMA a call first as they have been rec'ed by a few people and are just over the hill from me.
I have some clutch judder issues with my MY03 WRX. Annoying the hell out of me as I do a city drive every day. :( |
Give it a good hard lauch, sometimes cures judder than Scoobys are prone to.
|
clutch judder is a common thing on a cold engine / gearbox and lower revs, mine does it too, well I think it does - it's been off the road for the past 4 months :( :(

From what I've been reading, it's possible to spend a lot of money tryinr to fix it and still have it no better, or return soon after. I'll just have to move further away from work to get a longer run :lol1:
|
OMA is the only place to go for quality service....
Unfortunately...chances are the only fix for the clutch judder if it is bad, is likely to be a complete new clutch. |
It got a new uprated clutch a year ago, so a bit soon for a new one!
I took it to Donegal at the weekend and it seems to be better when the car is hot. Can live with it at the moment. BTW, can anyone recommend a good "safety device" for detecting radar/laser guns. I think if you drive from Belfast to Derry, you are guaranteed to pass van/unmarked car somewhere :( |
Not all uprated clutches are the same. And if the flywheel wasnt resurfaced, or like new....you can get judder.
What type of clutch was fitted ? Did they resurface the flywheel when they did it ? Exedy did have a few issues with a new material they used, which caused severe judder on their uprated clutches. Although that is now resolved with another new material. As for the cameras.. There are only a handful of fixed cameras here anyway, so thats no big deal. And with lasers etc....if you've spotted it with a detector, then chances are its also spotted you. Dont know how good the radar stuff is...but any onces Ive seen in the past, detected more shopping centres than speed cameras. |
It was the previous owner who had it fitted. I have the invoice but it only show supplier and Product code ADS73031C. I'll ring them and find out what that corresponds too.
I don't know if the flywheel was skimmed or not. I would suspect not. I think excessive city driving may have brought this on. If it gets worse I'll defo take it to OMA. |
Part number is just a replacement Blueprint clutch. Perfectly good clutch, but totally standard.
It should really be pretty smooth assuming it was installed correctly ( ie, flywheel surface good ) You could try giving the clutch a little abuse, couple of biggish slips ( dont go mad ) and it might help things a bit. |
Standard clutch! The invoice says almost £305 inc VAT!!!
How much more is an uprated one?:wonder: |
Well, clutches arent cheap, although I'm sure others can get them cheaper than that.
But see here Blueprint ADS Part Numbers CLUTCH KIT - ADS73031C :: £294.50 :: Blue Print Parts - ADL :: CLUTCH KIT :: Also beware, as there are clutches out there, that claim to be quality brands like Exedy, but are clearly knock offs. Often sourced from places like ebay. So if places are selling them very cheap, be careful. A proper performance Exedy, AP or Helix could be around £4-450, depending on type. |
£305 for a clutch!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha wish my clutch was £305. PM me about a garage door opener (radar blocker) for your trips from/to londonderry
|
do they really work "Garage door openers" was lookin at this site Police RADAR DETECTORS and GPS speed camera detectors and Laser radar detector. but couldnt find one gadget that did all if u know what i mean
