why do garages advertise cars with the least important items listed first?

I'm looking for an RS4 at the moment and I've noticed so many garages list the most pointless text in their adverts. EG:-

4 Doors, Manual, Saloon, Petrol, 29,000 miles, Black, MOT-05-2010. ABS, Alloy wheels, Cruise control, Folding rear seats, Lumbar support, Immobiliser, Passenger airbag, Rear armrest, Side airbags, Radio/CD, Rear headrests, Sports seats, Traction control, Body coloured bumpers, Front electric windows, Front head restraints, PAS, Steering wheel rake adjustment, Steering wheel reach adjustment, Trip computer, Solid Paint, 3x3 point rear seat belts, Alarm, Drivers airbag, Electric door mirrors, Electrically adjustable drivers seat, Electrically adjustable passenger seat, Front fog lights, Heated door mirrors, Heated front seat, Isofix child seat anchor points, Leather seat trim, Rear electric windows, Remote central locking, Reverse parking aid, Service indicator. Insurance Group:20, £29,999 no VAT

You could read that and think you were looking at purchasing a standard A4. In fact, in this particular example, they don't even say whether it has the bucket seats or standard recaros and is long winded by stating "Electrically adjustable drivers seat, Electrically adjustable passenger seat". Just put "electric front seats" ffs!
JUST TELL ME WHAT OPTIONS IT HAD FITTED FROM THE FACTORY! I KNOW THE REST YOU DUMMIES.

I feel better now..

Nick

Oooh, it's got a radio SLASH cd - buy that one!

I'd rather buy it for the rear headrests.

Standard spec items are automatically added by Autotrader. They can be edited but why bother, if the potential customer is serious they will call you for details.

It is sooo annoying when they do that!! It's why I always use Pistonheads, no bull**** and real people selling cars where the lists start with whats been modded :D.

the other thing that annoys me is dealers not doing any research on a car they are selling. Like the Astra VXR, very few dealers will put in there adverts if it has the sight/light pack - auto lights and wipers. Or when i was looking for a 330d they would say it had a single CD and i turned up to find it had a multichanger and the upgraded stereo!! Sometimes i think us joe public know more about cars than the dealers, they should be forced to do an exam. Worst ive had though is a subaru dealer in belfast telling me that a ppp pack would take nearly 2 seconds off the 0-60 time!!!!

What annoys me is that all dealers seem to have forgotten we're in a recession.

I keep hearing about all these cars that were £60k new and 12 months later can be had for £20k. I never see them. Prices seem to be going up.

Prime example is the Audi RS4. Dealers are still asking £37k for a 2006/7 car.

Private sellers are just as bad though. Still see the same Impreza's up for sale 9 months after I sold mine. Guess some people/dealers have never heard the term "Price to sell".

All sources say that second hand car prices are rising - by as much as 10%.
