Intermittent Steering Fault

We started the subaru up on Tuesday morning and it felt like there was a little resistance when turning the wheel (more to the right than the left), it was only at a certain point that this happened...more noticable when the car was started from cold. Does anyone have any advice on what it could be?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds very similar to problems I'm experiencing with mine, as it seems to occur at the same point in the rack turn. I think this is a problem with the rack joints adjacent to the downpipe.... I'm going to copper grease mine when I get chance to see if this eases it, then at least I'll know thats the problem area.

Mine is 02 new age by the way.

Cheers Jay, think it defo has to do with the steering rack but would like to confirm this before we go ahead and replace it when it could be something else and not as expensive. :)

Ours is a 51 plate
